Cultivating Creativity Through Theatre Arts

Aragon Drama strives to be a welcoming space for students to explore self expression through the arts of acting and technical theatre. Shane Smuin, Aragon’s Artistic Director, believes that theatre is a conservatory: a safe space where self expression and personal growth is cultivated, encouraged, and developed.

In Aragon’s Beginning Drama class, students begin the process of self expression through theatre games, monologues, scenes, published plays, and original projects. In Advanced Drama, students deepen their understanding through advanced improvisational work, classical monologues and scripts, as well as leading and directing Beginning Drama students through published plays and original projects. In Technical Theatre, students learn the skills and techniques for the creation of scenic design, lighting design, and sound design for Aragon Drama’s main stage productions.
